Overhead door closers ensure that fire doors are closed completely after every use, unless held open safely with a door holder, therefore limiting the spread of fire throughout the building. These closers can be installed in three different configurations which are often referred to as Fig 1, 61, and 66 positions. Although not every closer can be installed in all three positions, and this is specified within the fitting instructions.
